guppies can i have in a 6gallon tank? including fry

I wouldnt add more than a trio (2 females one male) to the tank... But in all reality you cant handle really very many fry in that tank along with the adults. You're better off with 3 males in the tank. A 6 is a good size for a fry tank though if you wanted to get another 10gal you could and have the 6 as a grow out for some fry, but fry will quickly overrun your tank.

However, as long as you don't have the tank heavily planted, the fry will get eaten by the adult guppies.

ok what filter do u rekon is suitable for this tank and what media?

will the chemistry levels change if i have the airstone running only a few hrs a day?

You could use a low turn over air powered filter, with sponge filter media to grow bacteria. You will need to run the filter 24 hours a day to keep the bacteria alive.
