Ok, as the title says, I want to increase my group of tiger barbs. I think they look amazing in a large group, the way they interact with each other. I got 6 regular and 1 orange and white tiger barbs. Other tank mates are 3 fire mouth cichlids, ruby shark, Pleco, moon light gourami.

Also my tigers are quite old and big, will a bunch of new small ones cause any problems.

A fair few. I would increase it to at least 15. Maybe even 20. Try and source similar sized ones also as the smaller ones will probably get picked on by the larger ones.

With regards to your other fish, if 2 firemouths pair then the other one is likely to get very bullied indeed. Also what pleco is it?

A group of twenty sounds good to me :) Maybe 10 regular and 10 orange/white ones. Yeah thanks, i'm aware 2 fire mouths may pair up. I have another tank as a back up plan. So far I've had no probs with the fire mouths, I've had them a couple of years, my tank has lots of bog wood and live plants so plenty of hiding places if they need. My Pleco is a common one, I rescued him from a work mate, he was in a 80L tank. He's 6 inches long at the mo, he's keeping my tank nice and algae free, when he gets bigger he can go in my 400L tank.

I went to my lfs and bought 12 little tiger barbs today

I've got them in a separate tank as they are tiny, I'll let them grow a bit before I mix them in with the others. There where some big ones but I didn't like the look of them, I also found a different type of tiger barb I never seen before, they called them "flower tiger barbs" the markings on there side looks like a flower

I didn't buy any , I prefere the normal ones.

I think they are just another morph, no stripes, just the pattern on there side that resembles a flower.
