How Many Remakes?

Why the hell would they want a remake of Porky's or Flash Gordon? Surely these types of films were so bad the first time round it's against our human rights to subject us to more? <and don't call me Shirley>

Seriously though, it's not really that big a deal if films get remade, it's not like the originals get burned on a pyre when they do it (although in the cases of the above mentionned films, that would be a bonus).

I like Porkys and Flash Gordon, in a B-movie way. But really if any movies should be remade, it should be the bad ones... take their stories/premises and make them good/better. I don't see any need to remake classics especially if it's going to be a totally uncreative remake like the shot-for-shot remake of Psycho.
