I'd start with a couple as the things never stop breeding! start with 4 and before you know it you will have a small tribe

I have seven in mine...2 males and five females.They must gobble up their own fry pretty quick though as I have only spotted a couple.That's over a period of several months.There are hiding places but apparently not enough
