How Many New Fish Is Safe To Add?

As above, how many new fish is safe to add at the same time?

I've always got 2 or 3 in one go. The biggest was 5 baby neons.

Just thinking of going to the lfs tomorrow for some new additions.

That depends on things like...

• What size is the tank?
• What filtration is running?
• What fish you already have (numbers and rough sizes excluding their tail fin)?

In the early days of starting a tank, the general rule is to buy new fish with a minimum gap of two weeks since the previous purchases, with the new additions no more than doubling the "volume" of your established fish (so taking their length and their stockiness into consideration)... But this is a very general rule, sometimes other factors influence things.

The tank is 180 litres.
Filter is an Eheim aquaball 2212.
And the stocking is;
1 x Yellow leopard guppy
2 x Glow light Tetras
5 x Neon tetras
2 x Blue three spot gouramis
2 x Pepper corydoras
1 x Plec

All fish are to full size, the Plec is about 3 inches.

Tank has been running for almost 3 years now.

you are quite under stocked so id say upto 6 fish in one go would be safe

(would buy some more gl tetra and cory if it was my tank)

yer if they are small fish i would say about 5-10 fish (cory,neons)
but if it was angels 2-3
mean the tank has been up and running for a long time now
but its up to you thats my opinion and i would also up the stock on cory and gl tetra
