I got some of these rainbowfish a week or two ago under the name "Australian Rainbow Fish" from petsmart...

Anyways. I have lost a few from medicating the diseases they came with and otherwise. I'm down to 7, started with 10. The rest of the bundle seem perfectly healthy, though.

I'd like to up their numbers (this time from a more reliable source) but since I don't know what they really are due to so many rainbows being called australian rainbow fish, I don't know how many I can fit, or even how big they really get.

Lucky for you guys, I have a really really really reeeaaaally bad picture which you might be able to use to identify. I can take a video if necessary, but I'm just too lazy and decided to try this picture first.

oh yeah, tank is 75 gallons, 4'x18"x21"
1 convict
1 firemouth
1 GT
7 rainbows
3 raphaels
1 featherfin
1 BN

Any advice and identification and stuff is appreciated, thanks much

"Australian Rainbow Fish" in the US is *usually* a Florida-made hybrid based on M.splendida. Occasionally one can find M.splendida inornata inclusions in "Australian Rainbow shipments"... these are difficult to find from good sources and look fantastic when grown (I managed to get a group of these for $0.88 per fish...the best investment for the money). Anyway, the fish will grow to 4" or so (hard to predict since their genes are an unknown mix), base your stocking on this number.

HTH.
