I suppose you could go with a larger hose diameter to reduce the velocity of flow since a smaller hose would act like a jet

thanks for all your info. everyone! I just got 2 30" lights w/4 bulbs on ebay for $78 u.s. i'm getting the tank peiced together slowly but surely!

It'll still be alittle bit. I just got the advice to set the tank in the yard(when it warms up outside) and fill the tank in increments to check for leaks. I got it second hand. So it'll be a couple months until it gets warm enough to do that!
