I'm trying to decide what to do with my new tank which I pick up on Sunday.

I am thinking along the lines of making it a male betta tank, divided up, how many do you think I could comfortably get in??

Could I get 6 in there do you think? I'm not definate in my plans yet, I was just thinking it would be nice to have the large tank for males & my current divided betta tank could change to females only.

how many litres is that roughly? or howmany gallons. i know bettas should be kept in 5gal atleast each so i hope that helps you out.

Give each betta an 11 inch long section and you can fit 5 in there comfortably. Technically you could fit 6-7 but they would have very little space each, which is unfair to them despite the amount of gallons the whole tank contains ( around 40 US gallons )

4-5 sections is better for the fish and will also look better aesthetically than a load of them crammed into tiny spaces.

Hehe good bug to get ;) Buy a bigger tank and divide. I bought a 4ft and am dividing it into 5 sections so you could go 5 aswell. I may go back down to 4 though. I have measured it out but want to draw the sections in chalk first so i can judge the size and width of each section. Im still trying to decide on filtration for my 4ft. Im going to put a 50watt heater down each end instead of a single 100watt. Im hoping this will make for easier and more accurate water temp throughout the whole tank.

Have fun dividing! I would love to see some finished photos :)

I have 5 sections in mine which is just under 4 foot. My husband measured it all out and put the dividers in for me! They look great once they're all set up, i have each section different and every so often the males are swapped round so they have different scenery. Good luck with yours x
