Hello everyone. I have yet another question. So, I have a 10 gallon tank that has a couple big rocks, a lot of small rocks (tank gravel?), two decorations, an aeration pump, a filter, and obviously water. The tank has 4 minnows in it. I've heard that they prefer to have more fish in the tank (credit to the user fluttermoth :)).

How many minnows would you suggest I have in my tank?

What type of minnows and whats the dimensions?

Type of minnows? Fathead minnows

I'm not really sure about the dimensions, except for that it's a 10 gallon tank. Here's the link to the tank: http://www.amazon.com/Top-Quality-Wheel-Gallon-Light/dp/B005LIMR2A/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1326078497&sr=8-5

So what do you think?

Considering that they can get to 3 - 4 inches long I would only get one more minnow if I were you :good:

Are you sure? I've had mine for about 8 months, and they're all still about 1 inch.

Anyone else want to share what you think?

They can get to 3 inches, IME maybe yours are just taking time to grow....l hmmmmm, are you sure that they are fathead minnows? Can you post a pic?

10 gallons are only suitable for a small school of fish and maybe a center piece fish like a Betta (if it is compatible with your other tank fish), some small shrimps, snails, frogs, and so on.

You can keep the tank as clean as you want but in a few months the water quality will begin to deteriorate. You would then need 90% water changes daily, and even still your fish could suffer from deformities because of inadequate swimming space.

Remember when you buy a fish you should always buy a tank for it at full size, regardless of how small it is when you buy it.

Oh, they're wild minnows, but that would still apply. Also, I monitor the levels of ammonia and other things, and I have a filter and a pump.

If they were 1-2 inches at full size, how many should I have in my tank? By the way, I might be posting a picture of them soon on here so I can get optimal answers from you guys.
