Hello,

this is my first post! (how exciting)

i have recently upgraded my aggresive tank to a 60L but now my fish look a little lost, but not sure if i should put any more in

so far i have 2 red tail sharks 6 tiger barbs 2 angels 2 tetras and 2 gouarmis?

'cording to the experts its 1cm of fully grown fish per 12.5cm/sq of surface area....but it is just a guide.

Not having a go, but angels are will grow way too big for a 60l. So will red tailed sharks and you can't keep two in the same tank. The tetras are probably unhappy too because they prefer to live in groups of at least six but you only have two.

This is where i am confused as every aquarium i have been too have advised different things so now i am worried! i was told as long as they are aggresive they can live together. the red tails and the angels never seem to bother each other but when the size becomes an issue i will upgrade the tank.

thanks for your knowledge i am very new to this and have taken the advise from shop owners :good:

Okay, but what I'm trying to say is that you cannot keep two of the same species of shark in the same tank.

angels are a type of shark? can i put the angels in my tank with the guppies? the guppies are adult size

No. Angels are not a species of shark. Angelfish are known to grow nearly 10'' in both length and height so will be way too big for a 60l.

You said you have two red tailed sharks in the same tank. You cannot keep two red tailed sharks in the same tank because they are territorial and will probably end up killing each other. Red tailed sharks also grow about 6'' so will be too big for a 60l.

Tetras need to be kept in groups of at least six. In the wild they live in shoals of thousands. Your tetras are probably very unhappy at the moment.

I hope this makes sense :)

looks like i will be needing a 3rd tank! the sharks have never been aggresive towards each other to be honest but will seperate if needed

thanks for your advise

can i put a plec in that tank? i have one in my guppie tank but would like on in this one if possible

I've never kept Plecs so wouldn't really know but I would sort out your current stocking before adding a plec. Buy some more tetras instead.

Thomas may have been a little carried away. A 10 inch angel is bigger than mine ever get even when they have all the room of my 120 gallon tank to grow in. They do get over 10 cm though. A common pleco on the other hand can reach 18 inches easily. The local fish shop I use has a display near the front door that has a few plecs in it. One of them is about 14" long and as big around as my forearm. The tank they are in is 6 feet long and about 2 feet front to back so it has room for larger fish. I am not trying to say that you are stocked appropriately. In my opinion either something needs to go or you need a much larger tank.
