Im thinking of getting malawi/african cichlids but i dont know how many to get and if they will fit in my tank? its 180ltrs i think its about 40gal. I live in the uk btw, i dont know the dimentions but its a juwel rio 180 maybe check them on there... i know its about 3 and a half ft long. How many and what types shall i put in there?i dont want to crowd the tank too much so they attack each other. Please get back to me, Thanks.

180L is probably the bottom limit for Malawi Cichlids - Mbuna types.
But it would probably be ok for some of the smaller and more peaceful species.

Perhaps some yellow labs and rusties.

I really like the look of yellow labs, I would get some of them and what other colour cichlids? what other types that will fit in there? also say if i get about 15-20 fish will that be ok? i heard it brings tention down

saulosi species tank would work

Thanks for the reply, What fish is there in the saulosi species? im guessing yellow labs is one of them? what are the others?

I keep 30+ Mbuna in a Rio 180 and have no problems at all. In fact its better to overstock to keep the focus of aggressive fish away from one singular fish constantly.

just be sure to filter as much as possible.
