Hi there,

looking to set up a Angelfish biotope in the next few months.
I was origionally going with Discus, but decided i wouldn't be able to provide them with enough care.
I have kept angels in the past, I even had them breeding at one point.
My question is, in a well planted 48"Lx12"Wx18"H tank. How many angels will cofortably fit into this tank?
And another quick question, would all the aqngels have to be introduced together?? Or would i be okay to add a single extra similiar sized fish later on?
Thanks in Advance!

1, 2 as a mating pair, or 5 to spread out aggression. Sure 3 or 4 would fit but they would pick on each other and may die :\ I keep a mating pair.

Its about 45 US gallons. That means you could put around 8 in there. Now, when they pair off, you may want to get rid of the weaker ones. But with a good filter, and nice water changes, you could easily keep 8 in there( I kept 8 angels in a 30g, for pairing off. They grew even bigger than I bought them at, and they were alkready adult size).

OK, thanks all! Will be keeping no more than 8 :), and buying them small. So it will be a fewmonths before they will be pairing off.
I was initially thinking that 3 or 4 wouldnj't be enough to spread out agression.
Filter wise, i will be going with a Tetratec EX 1200.
