Depends on size. I would expect two full grown Angels, able to live in a 55 gallon. That would be the max. are there others in the tank?

Newly free swimming fry 40 fry per gallon
Two week old fry 20 fry per gallon
Month old fry 10 fry per gallon
Pea size bodies 3 fish per gallon
Dime size bodies 2 fish per gallon
Nickel size bodies 1 fish per gallon
Quarter size bodies 1 fish per 2 gallons
Silver Dollar size bodies 1 fish per 3 gallons
Potential breeders 1 fish per 5 gallons
Show Specimens 1 fish per 10 gallons
One breeding pair 20 gallon high tank

I always go 29 gallons per full grown, which mine are right now about 11 1/2 inches tall and 6 ish wide and are very territorial breeders.

That is a standard stocking rate chart for angels. 10 gallons per angel IF they are compatable. I tend to diagree with the 20 gallons per breeding pair, veils are a tight fit in a 20. 29 gallon tanks work better for veil pairs.

A breeding pair in a 55 is a really understocked tank, sure to make for a happy pair. :)

DID YOU GUYS KNOW THAT FULLY GROWN ANGELS ARE BREED IN 10 GALLON TANKS?

not saying its right just saying thats how most "commercial" breeders do it.

sorry for ruining your day

Sure they do, but they don't care if the pair is comfortable, which was mentioned at the beginning. They also don't care if the pair quits spawning due to stress, or one fish out of the pair gets a little too aggressive in a confined area. They have many other pairs, pairs are disposable when all you care about is money.

Breeding in that manner gives you the lovely sort of fish you find at the corporate pet shops, they run an aquatic puppy mill.
