Just checking what you guys think. I'm getting a bigger tank for mine, right now is a bit cramped. Anyways it won't be for a while, my moms funny about it she thinks my fish will die over summer if I get a bigger tank now :dunno: I was thinking 3 would be okay, it will be bare bottom with a few peices of driftwood, some plants in pots and also a few cories and danios, what do you guys think? I would love to have more angels but i'm not sure how many will fit in without too much aggresion.

A lot of people say 55 gallons is the minimum amount of gallons for an angelfish but to tell you the truth, with proper care almost anything can be done.

Start with 6, pair percentage is well into the 90's. Once you get a pair rehome 4 of them. This is the only reasonably reliable way to get compatable fish. Angels are odd in that respect, you may get 6 that do get along long term, or you may have a group with aggression issues. Working through these situations is part of the fun of aquatics, if everything was totally predictable it would get boring fast.

i have a 120litre (40"x18x12" LxHxW) and i hvae 3 and they are fine. I got 2 and thought they were board so i got another one and they have made a breeding trio. I think 3 in a 29 would be good. Anything else with them?

Actually yes, some cories and danios. I had 6 in tank I have now trying to get a pair Tolak, but one has died out from an internal parasite issue that I think i've gotten over. What are the chances with 5?

I have six siblings together. Will they still become agressive or is there a chance that they will continue to get along well since they've always been together?

That's impossibe to tell. If you get a pair there are bound to be aggression issues, and with 6 angels you are bound to get a pair. Some pairs just chase others away a little, others will do some serious damage, up to & including death. I've had both ends of the spectrum with siblings.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye on them.

Alot of angels can be kept in a 29g if you do everything correct. Assuming you do everything corect problems are likely to occur as they mature and pair off. They will most likely start to fight for teritory and mates. I'm sure someone will disagree but I would recomend a maximum of 8. You will have to have tank space available for the less agressive ones when they start to fight. If you don't plan on having space available I would recomend 6 max and you will need places for the less agressive to hide. Don T.

 Seems alittle much from what I understand... My Angels are already fully mature, i've had my one female drop eggs twice.

I have always recommended the same as what Tolak said.

Using the 10g/angel rule (for territory issues), you can comfortably get 3 angels in a 29g. The problem is that if you get a pair out of those 3, they could terrorize and even kill the 3rd. Your best bet is to get the 6 juvies and let them pair off. Keep the pair and rehome the other 4. A 29g would make a nice breeding tank.

personally i would say 0

having seen how well a fully grown angel with flourish in a 60gal tank i personally would not put any in antyhing less than a 40gal

you should be able to get a pair to *survive* in there, even live a happy life, weather they will really *thrive* and reach their full potential is another issue

Yeah a scratched that idea anyways, my moms letting me get a bigger tank agian (shes so random) so i'll most likely get a 55 or 60 and put my favorite angelfish in there with some Discus and see how it turns out.
