I am wanting to get a group of multis for my newly-emptied 10 gal. First question, how many should I get? I am thinking 3, if I can a m and 2 fm, but 5-6 if they are too young to sex. Also, does anyone know a place on the web I could buy them from? I've checked drs. foster and smith and aquabid, but so far there are none. I have a call in to my lfs to see if they can get some, but when I tried a year or so ago they couldn't, so I'm not sure what's going to happen there.
If I end up having to go with a group of 5-6, will it be ok to just let them grow up and stay in the tank or will I need to remove some of them once they can be sexed?
I have sand substrate and will buy a bunch of shells once I actually order the fish (just in case I can't get any yet). That's all they'll need right? Oh, and I have a chunk of tufa rock that has a hole in the center that I'll add to help with the ph/hardness. (Out of the tap the ph is 7, and I need to get a new hardness test.) How does that sound?
Thanks for the help!
