I have a 55 gallon tank with 2 pleco, a south african draggon, a paradise , a gold and an opaline. I love my gouramis and would like to have a female (after looking at the pics in anogther post I am sure mine is male with the lyre tail).

I saw what looked like a moon light or moon gourami in a tank today that had to be 6 inches long ( I was impressed). I knew they were large fish but didn't realize they were that large. How many can I put in my tank.

I would love to have babies but I will read up in the forum latter on that I guess.

I was told today by a coworker that an opaline and a blue are the same. Mine was sold to me as an Opaline but I found it in a booklet at work as a blue.

Here are some pics. The paradise is a camera hog where the other two swim away quickly lol.

"a south african draggon" is this the dragon goby in the pic under your name? If so this will need brackish conditions ( & isn't South African).
Your gouramis are a possible male gold and a female blue opaline - these are the same species Trichogaster trichopterus, just different colour varieties. These can get over 5" in size. (Moonlights can get to 8") - sizes don't include tails. You could add one more female of any colour but another male would fight.
The paradise fish is a male and I'd advise against adding a female.

If you want to breed you will need another large tank and a way to dispose of 100's of fry.

Do you know what plecos you have? Whether you can have more fish depends on what they are & how big they grow - if they are commons or sailfins you already have too much fish mass in your tank.

That is what I thought. I just have fallen in love with the gouramis. The plecos are commons but I have a place for them to go when they get bigger. I have somewhere for the fry to go also. I work at a pet store that will take them and there are a few others around who will aslo take them.

You might be right on the draggon and yes it is the one in the pic. I was just going by what it was sold to me as. I have seen them since and never seen them in bracish tho but that doesn't really meant that they aren't. Have any suggestions on that. He has been there 4 months and seems healthy.

So much for listening to what pets mart has to say. I wish they wouldn't call them by the wrong name.
