How Long Should Mature Filter Media Take To Multiply

well i have to start the cycle, i poured some pure ammonia in, and i read the thing fishless cycle, and i added in a mesh baggy of gravel, and 2 big peices of mature filter sponge stuff, any1 know how long it will take ruffly for them to multiply, i will test everday, thanks for the help

is this bad the ammonia i put in sorta foams but not really, do i need to do a complete water change?

Foaming = bad. Shake the bottle and if it foams up it has a chemical additive that you don't want in your tank.

I think it's probably just best to start again, it's probably not worth risking it.

are you sure, am i going to have to put new sand in??, where the hell do u find pure ammonia, its all cleaning additives or foaming

B&Q and Homebase should have it, also maybe Boots.

It's probably worth at least cleaning the sand, if you post the ingredients of your ammonia someone might be able to advise what to do.
