How Long Is Fish Food Good For.

The pot of flakes and pot of pellets both say it's good for 18 months, I read it was only 3 months elsewhere.

i also read that after 3 moths the food is no longer as good. it is because assoon as the seal is broken the food starts to deteriate, and i also read that after 3 months the food has lost a good amount of its nutrition, so i always buy the small pots of food and most of that gets eaten in 3 months.

I've heard that after about 5 months fish food isn't good anymore because it starts to lose nutritional value (not sure how)

Cant confirm but wouldnt worry about it aslong as the flakes/pellets arnt the sole source of nutrition then they'll do alright untill you run out

Can you freeze the food to help it last longer? (or freeze small sections, and when you need it, take out a section and use that until it's time to get out another section)

How about contacting a few manufacturers to see what they say? There's usually a shelf life for most dried foods. I guess it also helps to keep food in airtight containers

I buy food in bulk cause I'm cheap. I have food often go 6 months or even longer and I've never had issues. Fish are happy and healthy!
