Hey, How long dose it take for a 8 US Gallon to cycle for shrimp ?

Depends on if you can get hold of some used media for your filter - if you can it will cut down on the time but it can be anything from 4-8 weeks.

You will need to be fully cycled before you add the shrimp as they are very sensitive to water quality and unless its spot on will die.

Also depends on the exact bio-load you are planning to add. We usually assume that 3-5 ppm of ammonia is more than a medium bio-load of fish will produce in a lightly planted aquarium. If you plan to keep only shrimp in a heavily planted tank, even 1-3 ppm of ammonia may be enough to breed the right amount of bacteria for the shrimp, for example.
