How Long Do Fish Stay Pregnant

im new to fish keepin and thought one of fish was dying ,
it turns out that she is prgnant and is showing all the signs.
i dont know what type she is and cant upload a picture
just wondering how long the pregnancy last . i have her isolated in another tank
and im waiting like a soon to be father or something. thanx for the help

I would guess that different fish have different gestation periods, so it may be bets to upload a picture of your fish, which someone will be able to ID. edit:just read you can't upload, sorry

I keep platy's and believe they are pregnant for around 4 weeks (which I have read is a reasonable average in the fishy world)

What kind of fish Bunman? My Ameca splendens will carry their fry for about 60 days and my endlers only carry theirs for about 23 days. Many of the most common livebearers we see in pet shops come to about 4 weeks or a bit more.
