Only asking cause i have high ammonia atm, and wanna get out everything *including fish* and plants.. so i can syphoon every last peice of gravel to get all the crap out of the tank...

Say 30 mins?? thats probably all i will need..

And this is a 10litre bucket

It really depends on the type, size and quantity of fish. You shouldn't have a problem with 30 minutes depending on those things. I would run an airstone or something of that nature to keep the oxygen up. Do you know what is causing the ammonia? In a cycled tank, there shouldn't be that much left over food or waste that would cause a problem.

30 minutes in a bucket should be fine, as long as no dramatic drop in temperature occurs, you will be ok. If your fish are not too big, the oxygen in the bucket will last far longer than 30 minutes. :good:

the temp will be fine, my room is always about the temp of the tank lol..

yep it was cycled.. but now its shot up mainly on ammonia, so going to a big water change

shall i do 50% or more??

Do you know what caused the ammonia to go up? That should not happen in a cycled tank and is an indication of a problem.

only thing i can think of is the misses feeding em more then they should be havin..
