My favorite fish store is back home which is over 100 miles away... So every time I'm home I buy something.

40 miles round trip , that shop usually has the fish I'm looking for , of course on the way home I amble slowely back , and stop at a least 3 other shops on the way back , this can take up to 3 hours at times

My favorite LFS is about 5 blocks from my house. I walk there with my dog at least once a week.

When I go to any LFS, whether I walk, drive, bus or train, I bring a backpack or a duffel bag. I resist looking at the fish in the bag on the way home. IMO, they get much less stressed if kept in the dark. :)

my first fish were brought from memphis in a water bottle with a straw which is about 2 hours. but one petstore is just down the street but i wish we had a good local fish store

My lfs is about 7 miles away which is where I usually go. But there is another really good one about 1 hours drive away - they have a fantastic selection of stock, so when I fancy something a little different, I toddle off there.

I do a round trip of about 80 miles there isn't much in the highlands laddie.

I go to one that's approx 60 miles away for my synos. Got my angels there too. All travelled very well and the store packed them for a long drive. In rush hour it can take 3 hours +. Stupid A12 and M11. :X
I also have one a 10 minute walk from me and use that too. Have travelled to others of varying distance. Think the place I got the endlers from was about 20ish miles away.
I'm lucky enough that I can travel to get fish if I wish. Must be alot harder if you don't have a car.
Hugs,
P.

Mad. Just plain mad. I'm the same for all my animals. Except now I only have the fish and cats (Of the furry kind, aswell as the swimming kind).
I still have a tank cycling and empty yet I consider the possibility of another tank. I mean, where is the sense in that? I'll only go and stock it then want another and another. :S
Hugs,
P.

Hey mypapercuthurts, when I read you're 2 hours from Memphis, my first thought was "Wow, he must be close to where I am..." Then I saw the Little Rock location. Never thought about THE OTHER DIRECTION!! haha, not really close to me at all!

I have gone an hour into Tupelo to go to PetsMart, but I never really end up with fish, just supplies. The lfs here is really good, they are about 20 minutes from me, so that is what I voted.

I have heard that there is a good lfs in a town in the area, but I am not sure EXACTLY where that town is. I know it will be over an hour, proably more. And if what I hear is right, I will be unable to resist, so I have been putting off going to see what they have.

My local shop is 20 miles away to begin with (they don't have a lot of fish). I've brought fish from 300 miles away before (Pets Inc. in Tempe, AZ). For me to even get to a petsmart it's 54 miles. 83 miles the other way is a shop I like called pet world. My favorite shop was in Tempe though doubt I'll ever get there again.

Generally I stop at the LFS on the way back home from work, since my work location changes through-out the day i go to various fish stores, If I need to goto the local home depot on the weekend (25 miles away) ill stop at the nearby fishstore too and just check things out.

I never just drive out to the LFS (gas is expensive)

The only nearby LFS's are either expensive, understocked, or just seam unexperienced.

but for voting purposes i put down 20-30 miles
