How does this stocking sound for a 100g

1 x Rotkiel Severum
1 x EBJD
2 x Silver Dollars
1 x Bristlenose Plec
Red Headed Tapajos (how many?)
10 x Smallish dithers...like Tiger barbs

in a 48"x19"x26" running 2 mature external filters

Sounds ok, but the SD's will prefer a larger group, I found them when I had them to be very skittish (I had four), but they arent always like that.

Tapajos, probably 3/4.

Are you planning to re-stock again then?

agreed on the silver dollars prefering a bigger group. plus you may find them too skittish to go with the ebjd. could work tho.

if youre open to suggestions i have a 100g tank with very similar footprint to yours ( mine is 48x24x24)

my stocking is

1 red spotted sev
1 green sev
1 blue acara
1 geophagus surinamensis ( was 3 but 2 had to be removed due to territory issues)
1 featherfin synodontis
1 senegal bichir
10 tiger barbs
1 golden nugget pleco

personally id swap the ebjd for another sev and the silver dollars for something along the lines of blue acara ,sajica , T elliotti etc . at the end of the day tho its personal choice and if you really like ebjd then go for it, just tossing a few ideas your way. either way enjoy stocking your tank ( my fave bit)

Hey Mark, when did you get the bichir? How do you like it? Ive got 3 now

I have 4 Silver Dollars at the mo and they seem to be the most confident fish in the tank...and greedy as hell lol!....also they get quite big and i don't want them to take up to much space.

Yeh im planning on setting up another tank for my Argentea and green Terror...leaving this tank empty...and selling the Texas and JD because they are a bit boring :p

This is what i woudl like to have for definite....although im not sure if i have the space..

1 rotkeil Sev
1 Red Spotted Sev
1 EBJD
4 Silver Dollars
1 Bistlenose
Red Head Tapajos
Small Shoaling fish

how many Tapajos could i have?
How many and what kind of small shoaling fish would work?
Can i squeeze in the Red Spotted Sev to?
Do you think the EBJD would be to agressive?

I always use Silver Dollars as the perfect dithers for my monster fish.....they are quick, boisterous and don't seem skittish at all :S

I don't really want to stock any more Cichlids other than the ones listed....Blue Acaras are ok but i'm a bit bored of them and its hard to find decent ones.

Hey Mark, when did you get the bichir? How do you like it? Ive got 3 now

had himf about 2 weeks now minxy . love him hes soooo funny the way he chomps his food down like a dog

nope it would have to be either the sev and ebjd or the 2 sevs couldnt do 2 sevs and the jd imo

Might drop the EBJD then.

What can i use for my small dithers?

Would Corys fit in this set up?

How about

2 sevs
5 RHT's
4 SD's
1 Brstleys
Shoal of tetras
shoal of corys

The ebjd is not aggressive but can be a bit bossy at times with smaller fish. Mine are all young but have have a ebjd with a green severum and 2 blue acaras. The ebjd is a bit timed at feeding time he does like like all the action. But he will bully my severum around from time to time. He does not mess with the acaras they are a bit bigger then Him now.

But the ebjd is not aggressive but is not peacful they have your basic cichlid attitued. I love mine and think he is the best. He's just a little punk. I say try the ebjd.I personaly don't like the look of rotkeil severum but love the kind minxy and mark have that bright orange red is awesome. The gold severums are cool too. They would add a little extra color to the tank.
1 red spot severum
1 ebjd
paire of red head tapajos
10 or more big tetras like Buenos Aires no silver dollars.
1 bristle nose pleco
6 Cory cats

That would be my pick. What an awesome tank that would be.

i have tiger barbs as my dithers they seem to work well and give colour and life to the tank. giant danios also make good dithers for cichlids .
