I think thats exactly what they are designed for, the packet says on it, aquarium vegetable holder so I guess somebody had an idea and made millions :lol:

Its stainless steel so doesnt cause any problems and will hold pretty much any veg except peas so I find it useful and costs probably the equivalent of about $5 for a pack of 2.

:crazy: Duh.. ok I get it now, its actually -made- for aquarium use, lol. I was trying to figure out what somebody was supposed to be doing with it at a formal dinner table :lol:
 
HAHAHA, yup, definately only for aquarium use :)

You should get one, they actually work really well and look quite neat. My apple snails think so anyway :)
 
Why not just go buy a cheap spiral wine cork remover. Take some heavy wire cutters to it and a metal file.

Or bend a big paper clip into a spiral shape.

I use screwcumbers too! my girlfriends dad used them so when I started keeping fish I made sure I got one. I just chop off a bit of cuecumber screw in the screwcumber and drop in the tank then for the next half hour my plec and clown loach are stuck to it munching away! most of my other fish come have a nibble too :good:

before i got the screws I used a surgical stainless steel lip ring which worked
