I know this is going to sound ridiculous (not to mention a bit nerdy) - but do any of the rest of you watch your fish through binoculars?
I've a fish keeping friend who suggested it a year or two ago - and I've been doing it ever since (so, there's at least two of us!!).
When I'm on the opposite side of the room I can pick up the binoculars and have a close up look in any of three tanks along one wall - without moving and disturbing the fish.
If I walk over to have a closer look - all the fish stop what they're doing and come and peer at me and it takes ages for them to settle down and forget I'm there. Whereas with the binoculars I can spy on them and they don't know I'm watching.

Looks awesome, I don't think I'd ever want to leave my bed!
