I was wondering the best way to move fish? We know someone who has to get rid of their tank and tropical fish. The fish include Emperor Angel, yellow tang, flame hawk, oragne tail damsel, pajama cardinal, and arrow crab. (all disease free) We have offered to take their tank and fish, but they live about 2hours away...What is the best way to move the fish in the car for that period of time? Someone please help!!!

Polysterine boxes....and maybe a few heat packs depending on the weather.

You should be able to get the boxes from and LFS. Its what they use to transport them in. You'll need some strong plastic bags for transporting too. Don't overload the boxes though...just make sure the bags can't role around.

If using heat packs, then make sure they are not in contact with the bags directly.

I've used this method to transport fish for 4-5 hours.

Hope this helps....
