How Do You Make A Hood?

I want to make hoods for a few of my tanks as they don't have any hoods only thing is i have no idea how to do this i know that i do want a hood or atleast a cover as some of my fish their speices are known to be jumpers and where i am its hot and dry in the summer and during winter we have to use electric heat which is also dry so the tanks water evaporates fairly quickly.
