my betta seems very prone to constipation. hes always floating to the top of the tank. when this happens i usually stop feeding him for a couple days and it gets a little better... but its become a consistent problem.

so i hear peas are the answer but being that they don't float i dont know the best way to feed them.

What do you feed him? You could try feeding him different things. One of my girls bloats so I switched from pellets to flakes and she is better, or you can try pre-soaking his food in advance.

To feed peas is easy. Cook a pea (or some peas but they dont need more than say a quarter of one at a time.). Ive even just used very hot tap water and let a frozen pea just soak in there for many minutes until it is soft. Take the now cooked pea and gently squeeze it out the the covering. Split it in half then chop it up into tiny pieces with a sharp knife or break little pieces off with your fingernail. Feed bite-sized pieces to the fish. About a quarter of a pea or a little bit more is plenty. Most bettas love them and will happily eat them. Fast the fish for at least one day. Two or three if the bloating is really bad. The little green tips of broccoli can be substituted for peas-just make sure they are cooked.
What do you normally feed the fish? Pellets or flake? And how many/much at a time? Any chance of a pic of the fish?
Cheers
