How Do You Attach Your Background

I am wanting to put a black background on my tank and seen some one ebay, black one side and blue the other so thought I would use the black side, how do you all attach your backgrounds? looking to getting a smooth look with no bubbles.

I was also thinking of getting ultra limo black window tint, its marked as being 1% LIGHT TRANSMISSION, 99% DARK, so 1% will still be visible through the glass by the sounds of it. I have tinted windows in a car before and it looked good, not sure how it would be on my fish tank.

few bits of sello-tape at either end does it for me, just make sure it's nice and tight to the glass.

Best results I have seen (and I want to do this at some point) is painting the glass.

Use a wee bit of olive oil on the background, or sellotape.

Rub Vaseline all over it, then rub the back of it while placing it on, it makes it look a lot better through the glass.. Then just sellotape the corners or edges on to tank.

Fixol made by JBL is the best thing I've come across.

+1 for painting. I spray painted my Rio 180 and I'm very glad I did. I'll be doing the same when I upgrade my Rio 240 to a bigger tank.

For fixing a background on though, sellotape is plenty sufficient

I used a small bit of washing up liquid spread very very thinly out on the glass then squeegied on the background with a credit card, perfect ripple and bubble free finish. Obviously you know not to get any liquid in the tank but thats easy enough, when the tank is in place there's no danger of any accidentally getting in there.

iv just bought the same background as you i think

i use sellotape sticky dots there about 2 quid for about 200 and work a treat. there clear too so you cant see them
