How Do Onion Plants Propogate?

Hey everyone!

I bought an onion plant the other week with all of my other low light plants (Yay for plants not dying on me!). Anyway, it's been growing insanely fast - There have been days it's grown another two inches to each leaf, or so it appears. But because it was doing so well I was wondering if anyone could tell me how the propogate, so if it does I can look out for it?

It can't... unless it somehow grows flower that i doubt it could

then how the hell does it reproduce in the wild

i would guess they flower/ have some sort of seed
