I am moving from California to Florida and I have an 8 year old Oscar, who is like my own child!! I am deathly afraid of this upcoming move because I don't know how to do it without him dying on the way. Is there any advice on how to move him, or does anyone know of professional fish movers in the San Francisco Bay Area?

I have never heard of professional fish movers unfortunately... Are you driving?

Driving:

Grab a big bucket w/ a lid (Home Depot or Home improvement stores would be a good place to look.) Most fish stores will sell battery powered air pumps for power outages, grab one of those. Pick up some Ammo-lock too (turns toxic ammonia to less toxic ammonium.)

Airplane:

I am not sure how well you could get a fish onto a plane if that is the way you are going... You may be able to check it in, but I would contact the airline before you do anything.

Read up on shipping fish.. If you can have someone hold on to him for a few days whilst you get settled in and then have him shipped to FL or if you know someone in FL then ship him before you leave?
