How Do I Know When My Platty Has...

Hi all,

she started last night and today (18 hours later) she seems to have stopped but I want to be sure she has stopped before I put her back in my main tank. Anyone got any ideas how long they take to birth? She's still fat an I think I can see more fry inside her.

She is probably done but there is no hurry to return her if you have decent cover in her birth tank and you keep her well fed.

Just don't want her wiping out my fry.
I have a plastic moss ball which my fry are hiding in at the moment.
They can get right in the middle but mom can't.

The only thing that concerns me is they have to come out at some point and although the mom is well fed she never seems to stop eating/foraging in the substrate.
