i bought a plant today but i think the fish in the tank it was in had ich. now i just have a plant in a bag and i'm afraid to put it in my tank. what should i do?

My answer would be to not have bought the plant in the first place.
Ideally throw it away, ich can live on any surface, even the inside of a bag.
Throw the entire lot away, it's not worth the risk just for one plant.

true, but it wont survive without a host. I'd stick it in a bucket for a week or so. that said, it would need to be a special plant, for me not to junk it instead.

Id get a weak bleach solution. Dilute it in water and let the plant soak in it for 1-2 minutes. This will get rid of any germs/bacteria on the plant.

Once the plant is taken out, rinse it under water a few times, then let it air dry. :good:

air drying alone, will kill all the ikc. if you dry it out, no need for anything else
