I'd just add that males are the only ones that will gain bristles down the middle of their head. Females may have short bristles along the sides but usually they have no bristles at all. They are very easy to sex past 2-3 inches. When they are really small none have bristles so its almost impossible to sex themThe males will have bristles and will be skinnier than females. Some will start developing bristles at about 2" but you wont be able to tell males and females for sure till there about 3" because before that some males might look like females but there just late developers.
Same, its like 99% of the time they don't have bristles. I also rarely see full grown females for sale even.Do you have a pick?
I know people say the females can get bristles but ive never owned or evan seen a pic of a female with bristles.
Sounds like a male then. What type is he? The common BNs (Ancistrus cirrhosus) only get 5-6"If this theory is true then my 8" BNP is f'sure a male. If he were human you'd say he had a big bushy beard![]()
If he has bristles down the middle of his head between his eyes its not a theory its a fact he is a maleIf this theory is true then my 8" BNP is f'sure a male. If he were human you'd say he had a big bushy beard![]()
