I just added 5 females to my freshly cycled and planted 22gal tank. They all seem happy and healthy (aside from one having a torn tail), but they won't come to the top to eat. They readily eat what falls to the bottom, or what they run into while coming up for air, but I'd like them to realize that its feeding time. Does anyone have any tips?

Upon further inspection, I also think one of them is full of eggs (she's bloated with a white spot on her belly, but very healthy looking and active). Will she just give up and lay them at some point, or is there something I should do?

How long have you had them? It took my 2 about 2 weeks before they would sit under my fingers and wait for food, they are such little piggies now, but Kai hasn't got it yet, only had him 6 days and we've only just established what food he'll eat, so I think 2 weeks again for him.
