I swear, she was brought up SOLELY on live foods, because I cannot get her to even look at a pellet. Does anyone have a trick to it? I keep giving them to her...and keep sucking them out after they float to the bottom, uneaten. :\

I am mean with this, because they are like babies - they will eat when they are hungry enough to stop sticking their nose in the air, then and only then will they realise what you are offering tastes nice and then eat it! I had this with many a fish, it worried me to begin with but if you persevere and stick to your guns, your fish will eventually realise you ain't mucking about, it's pellets or nothing!

sometimes they eat better if they are excited. so if you play with her and then show her a mirror and feed her a tiny bit of crushed pellet. ... worth a try...

MermaidMel's method also works for more finicky fish like carnivores or predators that dont want to accept anything other then live foods. It took me over 3 months of trying to get a clown knife to adapt to eating dry/frozen food but eventually he did learn the lesson.

soak the pellets in some garlic oil, from a clove you crush(just a tiny bit)or you can by this garlic stuff put out by Kent Marine, it's the real deal, not even kidding it works like a great treat too!!!
