Well basically - I'm 16, have quite a small room.. and currently have a 64ltr tank on a stand, and a 5gal on my desk..

but I really want another tank!

I want some more fish, like gouramis and swordtails.. what do you think I should do? Have any of you had ingenious ideas about how to get another tank, or to fit more fish in?

cheers for any ideas :good:

buy a 30 gallon taller tank like a rio 125 or a fluval roma 125, in place of the 60 litre then put the 5 gallon in the cabinet but take the doors off, and put the 60 litre inplace of the 5 gallon if this would all fit. or do what i did and re arrange your room to get the most space possible even if it looks silly! what we do for our fish

Purchase a 36" double angle iron stand
One three footer on above deck and 2x 18" tanks below.
Need to find out which way the joists run if in an upatairs bedroom tho
Regards

All good ideas.. especially the bed one ;)

I'll look into it.. is it to much to just get a second filter and put some more smaller things in my 70ltr? I think everything in there is peaceful... but they may run out of room

Well i'm twelve, and this is what happend.

Had a 5g, started off my hobby. Got hooked, moved away from my old apartment, bought a house, used my money to buy a 29g, (mom let me since a 5g was too small to her, a 29g was big to her.)

So then, I said I needed a 10g tank, my mom said no cause we already have a 5g. (fry tank)
I SOLD the 5g to my friend to get HIM hooked for fun :D
then my mom let me buy a 10g. Thats how I convinced her, i sold a tank to get another LOL.

so, now i want a 55g. I noticed how a bala would get too big for a 29g so tahts my only excuse for a 55g. I'll return it afterwards though. :nods: genius.

Get your parents to like the idea of fish in the home as a feature in the living / dining room etc. Offer to maintain it and if you can afford it pay 50 - 100% of the initial cost.

Look on eBay or other second hand sites for a good value tank that fits the furniture.

Sell it as you giving something to the houses appearance.

If you are breeding fish and doing biology at school sell it on the educational value, checking water stats at a push could be good for chemistry!!

What ever you do I wish you luck :good:. Pretty soon here I have to convince my parents to let me setup two 50-100gal tubs in the yard, so I can try breeding outside.

edit: I did put one of my tanks in my closet. Its a standard 15 gal. I only think half my family knows it there, cuz ever four months my dad asks where it came from.

Haha these are some really good ideas!!

Think I may suggest getting the one for the living room - as well as having to buy a 'grow-out' tank for my dwarf puffers :p
"Seriously - they grow so big.. I need a 10 gal!" <-- might just work :good:

haha id just follow what others have said...but i had to say i love the signature...

if chuck norris, through some odd time space paradox had to fight himself, he'd win lol
