Hi everyone,

I'm working out details for an automatic drip system in my head and I have some of the problems worked out so far. I am now of the opinion that a continuous drip system from an overhead vat of water would be the best water delivery system for me.

What I don't know is this: how can I adjust the drip rate for a given tank? I know that one could use an airline valve in reverse to allow for a slow drip - but I can't regulate the rate with that.

What's the best way to regulate the rate? A link to a product would be helpful, too, if anyone knows offhand.

Could I get something like this for example?
My link

Thanks!

An IV giving set would work but you'd probably find a garden irrigation system easier to set up.

Hay mate,
don't complicate matters, an easy way to adjust the flow of drops with airline tubing other than making knots in them would be to use on of these:

you would be able to adjust the flow by turning the thread that works like a valve.

A peristaltic pump on a timer ?

Like one of these. http://www.williamson-shop.co.uk/index.asp

Use a timer so it is not running 24/7 and choose your pump capacity from 1ml/minute to 200ml/minute and time settings to get however much you want.

If you use a 4 roller pump head you can keep your liquid below the tank and the liquid won't run back down the pipe when the pump is off.

I use two of the 100 series @ 3ml/minute to does fertilisers into my planted tank.
