How Can A Fish Vanish In 48 Hours

My kribs had there fry hatch about a week ago, everything has been fine. But I have just been having a nosey and notice I can only see the male krib. Just emptied the entire tank and there is no female and no baby kribs left. nothing on the floor so can't have jumped out surely the male krib cannot have eaten the female in less than 2 days

Have you taken your filter apart? My fry disappear into my filter sometimes. It'd probably be a squeeze for a female adult though.

Not taken the filter apart, I'm not concerned about the fry as I can understand what could have happened to them but for a large female to vanish from the tank I am puzzled.

She was there with the fry on Tuesday as I was sat watching for a while, I didn't look yesterday and just put some food in so not sure if she was there or not and then today I have just taken every rock and cave out looking and nothing but the male and about 8 fry

Do you have any shrimp? These can strip a fish down overnight.

No don't have a cat. I've just checked the filter and only found krib babies but no female,

Nope it's a tank with just the kribs.
