would you say 9.5 cm x 26cm x 25cm is big enough for a betta well ive seen smaller cups in stores and holders for sale

If it doesn't hold an absolute bare minimum of 1g (I'm not sure of how those dimensions work out, but considering one of those dimensions is only about 3.5 inches, I doubt it is), it is unacceptable for bettas - regardless of what stores are selling. Most bettas in stores are improperly cared for, and many betta "habitats" sold to customers are grotesquely undersized. Remember, stores care about making money, not about what is right for the animal. The more overpriced art-deco two cup tanks they can sell, the better for them. And of course, they get more money when every betta they sell dies and has to be replaced in a few months than if it lives the full 3-5 years...

Yeah, ditto. If it is width or length it is def. unacceptable. If it was much longer and wider, it'd be borderline ok for depth, but even then the fella's fins will be dragging in his poop.

im thinking of making my 30"x12"x15" tank into barracks im not sure what is the best size. i want it to hold atleast 6 bettas. length/width/height . 9.5cm would be the width. but the betta would have enough length . i dont think 1g is a very good explenation you could have a very deep tank.

Just get a regular bowl...you don't want to put the bettas in cup other wise they don't have enough space to swim...give them space to grow and swim.

well i would but my parents (i am only 13 !!! new generation of betta keepers) wont let me buy more tanks!
well picture it this way 5 small tanks in a big tank. also ive decided 5" wide is wide enough

The reason I am asking if it is at least one gallon is that one gallon is the bare minimum tank size for the species; smaller severely compromises water quality, and the betta's quality of life. So, it would be best to calculate the gallonage using those dimension to make sure you are not harming the fish.
The dimensions you describe sound like the tank might be a 20long or something? If that was split up into 5 compartments, they'd have a decent amount of space each - a good 4g per fish, right? Unless my math skills have grown even worse with age... heh.

it works out at 2 g (us) and 1.5g normal

Go to a Thrift Shop....you don't have to buy regular bowls...just buy a regular flower bowl and its only about 2-3 dollars each...or go to Pick n' Save...buy a dozen of jars for $10...save even more money! :good:
