i have some nearly week old platy fry, and nearly two week old corydora fry. they are all together in a breeding net suspended in the main tank at the moment. im not actually feeding them much, they seem to be doing well with the normal food that floats in over the top!

how big should they be before i put them back in the tank out of the net?

and if i were to buy some 'fry' food what is best? ive heard microworms are good?

They really need to be in a serperate tank so they can grow fast They will be stunted and not grow very big if left in the net. Micro Worms are good, but BBS ( Baby Brine Shrimp) is the best food ont he market. You can raise it yourself or buy it frozen ( better for them and easier for me). Once the corries are about a half inch and the platies are a half inch, they should be fine in the community.

Good answer Krib, the only thing I would question is whether frozen BBS is better than live? If that is what you are saying. IMO live BBS is far better than frozen since it lives for 5 hours or so in the tank and will therefore give the fry a meal for a far longer period of time. Not falling out about it though.

i unfortunatly havent got another tank as of yet but am on the lookout for a reasonably priced second hand one for fry. until then the net is the only option unless i stick them back i the community tank and let them take their chances! ive not had my fish for long, they gave birth/laid eggs within days of getting them so took me by suprise!
i dont know anywhere to get live BBS from here, but i know some places that sell frozen (where i get my red blood worm things from) shall have a look what they've got in the morning.
will the corys and the platy fry both eat that?

Actually, the reason frozen BBS is be tter, is becasue its flash frozen when the Naupili have the most nutrition, when rasiing it at home, you dont know when it hatched, so then your fish arent getting as much nutrition.
