I have had a 10g in my dorm for the last year, mostly due to size constraints and whatnot. However this coming year I will have a double single room, and no roommate! So I have found a bowed front 28g tank that I like a lot-But I am wondering if that is way too big both in terms of size in the room, and the eventual end of the year take home. Are there are other colloege students out there with any experience with tanks this large?

thanks!

I kept a 15g in my room with no problem whatsoever, and a friend of mine in the same residence had a 40g.

Don't listen to the residence rules on sizes for tanks, the residence administration doesn't know what they're talking about when it comes to fish. Trust me from experience. The limit at my school was 5g, and I kept a 10g, a 15g, and various betta tanks scattered throughout my room.

The ebst way to get away with the 28g tank is to not make friends with your don/RA, ORRR be extremely good friends with them. If you're not close with them you don't have to worry about them finding the tank in your room. If you are extremely close with them [as I was with my don/RA], then chances are they might bend the rules for ya. My don loved me, and loved watching my fish, so he never told anyone how many gallons over the limit I was.. just said it looked like a 5g to him. :D

Hehe, I guess I should have pointed out that I AM the RA, soo.... I suppose I can make an exceoption to the rules for myself-Right??
