someone said marroon clowns get big. how big? and would one be ok living with a tang and a flame angle?

how big is your tank? Tangs need a lot of space so I would say you are fine. I have a 120US G tank with 1 Niger trigger, 1 Regal Tang, 1 Cole Yellow Eye Tang, 1 Flame Angel, 2 Gold Stripe Maroon Clowns, 2 ReefChromis (wuz 3 before my cbs got 1 yesterday ) and 3 Pajama Cardinals and they all get along fine. once in a while the female clown will chase off the flame angel if she's cranky i guess, other times she lets him kick it.

Oh and Female Gold Stripe Maroons can get up to 6" long

yeah for a tang i would say you're looking at a 6 foot tank as they are very active and need lots of room. also getting to about 8". and yeah the average size for a maroon clown is 5-6"

if your tank is big enough to support a tang then i would say a maroon clown will be ok in there as long. is that all you have, the tang and the angel?

yes on average they get 5-6 inches. percs and ocellaris are about 3 inches if you want something smaller.

ok, now im worried ive got a maroon clown thats ment to grow up to 6" in a 2 1/2 foot tank. GREAT. thats my investment full!

If you have the capacity for a tang (which you dont) then a maroon clown wont be a problem. These fish grow to a good 6 inches and not only in length but they really are big wide fish with alot of body mass. 2.5ft is not large enough im afraid. Mest keep with royal grammas, small wrassesd or gobies im afraid.
