read that thers tonnes of information in there
they get big and in some cases very aggressive towards other oscars-other fish for that matter, its hard work to get a "pair" i had 4 at one point and jambo ( in my sig) ended up beating all 3 of the others to a pulp-it was totally out of the blue,if you can buy an already formed pair then thats ok, they would need a very large tank, and places where they could take cover should they have a fight,
i feed jambo
*tetradoromin cichlid pellets every day
*prawns once a week
*freeze dried shrimp for a treat
*peas,uaually once a week
they are very messy fish, everything that they eat comes out of there gills, or gets spat out when they have stuffed too much in their mouths, what comes out the other end is pretty much the same size as what goes in the mouth!so for this reason they require excellent filtration, they wreck plants, dig up the substrate, and sulk if they cant have their own way..but they are the nicest ,biggest personalities in a fish tank, they will be hand fed from young, and recognise owners (im sure of that)temp is about 75 but will tolerate warmer, but if it gets a lot cooler such as during a water change you may find the oscar huddled under the heater for warmth, they are very very hardy fish, but if you slip on keeping the water quality in tip top condition they are prone to HTH ( hole in the head)
i cant recommend them to you as i dont know what tank you have etc, but they are an excellent choice, and also a very long term commitment as they can live for 10 yrs

hope this helps
