These fish have been dyed to say things.

 poor fish I hope the people responsible get a tattoo against there will
my lfs had parrots that had flowers dyed into them until someone bought out the store and
stopped them from getting them

I saw these fish on Tung Choi street goldfish market in hong kong over new years. Some had been tatooed with pictures of flowers and other symbols too. The coloured ones look so cool, almost as striking as marines. Too bad they cheated and used dyes which harm the fish instead of trying to develop colours naturaly :(

I took photos but cant figure out how to post them on here

dying fish is just wrong and why do we (man) keep thinking we can do a better job tham mother nature

it's horrible regardless of how pretty they looked. i double checked that my lfs didn't do it.

I agree, dying is wrong. Despite how trendy dyed ones look, I wouldnt buy one.

I would however kill for one of these!

those arent dyed, they are flowerhorn x blood parrot, or something along the lines.

Last Valentines day one of our smaller family owned fish shops had one that said I love you on it. I thought it was horrible. I've bought some that were tattooed before and have recently changed views on these. That's animal cruelty. Not cool

I think that the naturally achieved colours are much more beautiful than artificial dying. The added benefit is that the colour will endure and of course the fish is not weakened.

How does tattooing the fish harm them? (besides the stress caused by the act itself)
I totally disagree with it regardless..was just curious
Personally I think it's totally creepy..especially if someone got me a fish that said 'I love you' on it!
Its kinda like the poor chicks that get dye injected into their eggs for Easter and come out rainbow colored..
I'll just keep getting tattoos on myself..only have 5 so far with plenty of naked skin left :hyper:
..and dang it!.. where's the hot Asian guy..probably cropped outta the pic...jeeeez
