So yesterday I saw a anchor worm on my fish. I said oh boy here we go, and decided to treat today. On another forum someone said to remove it with tweezers....... but how the heck are you supposed to even do that? Off a 2 inch rasbora? It is on its top fin. I have heard about using clove oil to calm it down (in low concentrations) and then put it on a paper towel to get the anchor worm off. But that seems super sketchy. Like super super. How do I know the fish will not just die as soon as I take it out of water? What if I injure it?

Is there ANY other way to remove it? I was thinking to do that clove oil process I would:
Get it out with a net, put it in a small container, add the clove mixture, then take it out and put it on a damp paper towel, and get it off. Sounds somewhat simple, but I do not think I could do it. I cannot mess up! I have heard of several treatments but they kill shrimp which I have in the tank the fish with the worm is in. About who knows, 15 of them? And lots of places to hide. I feel like I would end up killing a few. Maybe I should move the rasbora to my 10g WCMM tank? And then treat that tank since there are no shrimp and only a nerite snail.

BOTTOM LINE, I need advice pronto. I cannot let my fish die and these anchor worms take over. I am panicking, but for good reason, and will not do anything that I might regret. So I need advice, please help me!

One of the rare times I use meds--external parasites. Use any of the external parasites meds sold over-the-counter. You need to dose the entire tank. It's fairly easy to get rid of anchor worm though I have rarely seen it on tropicals, just goldfish.
