I had to vote no on that one, maaaybe (maybe!) if it was long ways so the fish could at least swim, but that looks a little uncomfortable
those look like they'd be used for shows or something

Hi Itty Bitty Betta :)

I had to vote "no" too. Ruby is so beautiful when he swims that I'd just hate to think of him living in a tiny box like that. He glides across the tank with his tail and fins flowing out behind him and he looks so happy and free--more so than any other fish I own.

I know people keep bettas in tiny little compartments and they live that way, but it just doesn't seem right to me. I know not everyone can keep a betta in big tanks, but I think they need some room to swim. The size of that box doesn't allow for that at all. Four inches is barely room for him to turn around in.

So these would be good as a 1 or 2-day display when I have visitors over? Or maybe a temporary home when I do a major cleaning on all the tanks?

Hi Itty Bitty Betta :)

I think they'd be great for those purposes. :D It does make a nice display, but it just doesn't seem to me that a fish the size of a betta would be comfortable in such a small space for a permanant residence. -_-

I would say no as well.....the more room they have the more they actually swim. I don't think they really like just sitting in those little cups not moving until someone picks up the cup for a better look.

On another note, the Betta in your picture is gorgeous!

I did vote yes but let me clarify why. I only think it would be okay on a temporary basis! like you said for cleaning or for display. Also they would come in real handy for fry when it comes time to seperate them..... that's when I think it would be okay.... any other time I say a 20 gallon for each :D okay okay but realistically I would do no less than a half gallon to a gallon each.
