I'm sure many of us have encountererd the problem of unintentionally destroying or Male Betta's bubble nests when cleaning their tanks. I'd like to start a discussion of ideas on how to save these bubble nests from destruction as we perform water changes and tank maintenance.
My Bettas sometimes build their bubble nests so large that they get caught in the water current and that too destroys these nests that these poor bettas work on all day.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to salvage bubble nests by protecting them from water currents and from our destructive water changes in a 10 to 20 gallon tank. The water current is already as low as it can be to still turn my bio wheel filters.
I have tried to scoop out the bubble nest with a cup prior to the water chane but trying to place it back in the tank ends up destrotying 80% of it.
Any ideas?
