Hospital Tank Or Quarantine Tank?

Hi

Is it better to have a hospital tank or a quarantine tank? We can only afford to get one. Or can 1 be used for both?

Also, how do you keep the filter media cycled ready for use in an emergency? No room in my externals to keep any more filter media as it is full with Rena Biochem stars and some Substrat-pro balls - not sure what make though?

Yes, one tank can be used for both.

And...I would usually suggest keeping extra filter media in your filter, but you say you don't have enough room in there? What about running a small sponge filter in your main tank, then transfer it to the hospital/quarantine tank when needed?
