I disagree.

If the petshop did recommend it (which I don't believe), then they are both equally sadistic.

Even if f you were new to fish, there's no way they could have thought putting a betta with a it of fungus or whatever on a hook and then into a tank of tiger barbs to slowly be nipped at while dying from impalation is humane...
